Great news!
With our TOUR DE SKANDINAVIA starting from Hamburg on 1st of september, we will take the chance and also attend the really special INK&RIDE fair while we are in Hamburg.
The INK&RIDE takes place from 30.08.-31.08. at Museum der Arbeit in Hamburg and combines tattoo art, music, cycling, skateboards and much more.
We will host the AURORA x Rad Race booth at the fair and also got our friends from Ahrberg with us.
This will be the first time we have our new late summer collection with us (stay tuned for more on this) and you should better come over and check it out in person.
Besides the new gear, we will also have some nice bargains for you.
So if you are in Hamburg and want to spend a nice day with tattoos, bikes and good people, visit the INK&RIDE and say „Hallo“ at our booth.

It’s time to announce something really big!
Together with Ingo, founder of the Rad Race, I worked the last two month to organize a very special journey. Both of us where dreaming of a tour like this for long and it was time to finally realize it.

TOUR DE SKANDINAVIA 2014

We will ride from Hamburg to Oslo in 9 days and sleep in our Heimplanet tents between every stage.
Our crew consists of sixteen people and thirdteen of them will ride the approx. 1200km on their road bike or track bike. The rest of our crew will follow in our tour van and take care of us and the equipment. We will also try to document the tour as good as possible with our cameras and hope to get back with some nice visuals for you.

This is going to be a really interesting experience, a challenge for everyone of us and a beautiful journey with stunning landscapes. Riding with the nature and see what it has to offer, no matter if it’s rain, wind or sunshine. On 1st of September we start the tour in Hamburg, will ride our way on the west coast of denmark and arrive in Frederikshavn, there we cross over the Kattegat with a ferry and reach Göteborg. The tour continues on the west coast of Sweden, we cross the Oslofjord and finish right in the heart of Oslo.

Besides a lot work and our privat effort, we are very happy that some friends/companies help us out with gear and support. As mentioned above – Heimplanet takes care of our sleeping-place, Ahrberg covers us with eco-friendly cycling accessories, together with Bioracer we produced our limited Tour de Skandinavia Teamkit, CLIF Bar provides us with the best energy bars available and helps us to keep our stamina during every stage, Kenda supplies us with all the rubber we need and last but not least Bombtrack provides us with two of their bikes!

We can’t wait and just want to get on our bikes and start this tour.

May is here and the next RAD RACE is coming pretty soon. The first one was a blast and a great event in Berlin.
The next one will take place on 31st of May 2014 at a very special location in the Hamburg Harbour – the Brandshof. This race is called “Street Hunt” and each and every lap around a 950 m course counts.

The more laps you can win, the more points you score!
There will also be a After Race Party, to celebrate this event and all riders.
No matter if you ride a fixed gear, a road bike or what ever, this is going to be really interesting and a great weekend in Hamburg.

Spring is here and so is the first part of the AURORA Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

It consists of five T-Shirts and a light Hooded Zipper.
But it would understate the case, if I leave it without any explanation.
All these new garments are 100% Made in Europe, made under fair working and also trading conditions. Besides these important factors, all garments are newly developed from scratch. The T-Shirts and Hooded have a custom fit made after my requirements. From now on every AURORA garment, will be produced just for AURORA!

I’m really proud of this first run and I think they turned out great. It took some months to get everything as it should be, but the result is stunning and I can’t wait to hear your feedback.

The details on all pieces are AURORA-like and finally a lot more ideas I had for a while, came to life in these pieces. Custom cut, functionality, photoprints and reflective designs.

A collaboration shirt with the RAD RACE Crew, featuring a large double photoprint by Hamburg-based photographer Björn Lexius. Another landscape impression on the “Road to nowhere” Shirt and the all new AURORA “Pocket” Shirts, featuring a practical backpocket to store your keys, wallet, mobile or tool while riding.

The AURORA “Pocket” Shirt is available in two versions. The “Reflex Pocket” Shirt features a high quality reflective fabric on the back. It’s the same fabric Nike uses for their reflective running gear, it’s state of the art and the best you can get. The pocket is durable and with the reflective fabric, it helps you to be seen at night.

If it get’s colder outside, just put on the new AURORA “Reflex V3″ Hooded Zipper, it’s not that heavy, but comfortable and made from super soft fabric made of 50% cotton / 50% polyester. It features a large reflective 3M print on the back, to offer visibility at night.
The Hooded Zipper also got a custom cut, that means it is slightly slimmer to prevent flapping while riding and the body is a bit longer.

What a weekend. It took some days to get everything back to normal and check out the snapshots we made during the Berliner Fahrrad Schau, but this finally is the quick recap of the weekend.

We had the chance to share a booth with our friends from RAD RACE and again with 8bar bikes. It was a great opportunity to meet a lot customers, new and old friends. The schindelhauer bikes x AURORA Goldsprint was a great success and many riders tried their luck. It was great to meet up with the guys of Auguste 86, who craft cycling-specific outdoor jackets and bags. Mathias Ahrberg from Hamburg who is working on his own sustainable cycling clothing label, of course Till from Benu Bags and many more.

After some busy weeks we are finally on the way to Berlin, just two days left until this years Fahrrad Schau starts. On the backseat we’ve got a lot of gear with us and also the first pieces of the AURORA Spring / Summer Collection 2014. Are you curious?
